How do I work?

For most projects I use professional translation software, so-called CAT tools.

With these it’s possible to:

  • respect any terminology provided
  • adapt translation choices on the basis of already translated texts
  • ensure terminological consistency (also for future projects) and uniformity throughout the text
  • quickly process similar documents (a discount is applied)

If I need further information during the translation I do not hesitate to ask questions in order to find the best solution. If requested I also point out typing errors in the original text.

What is a CAT tool?

It is a software solution that allows you to save translations and searches that you have already made and thus increase efficiency. Most CAT tools have two main elements: translation memories (TM) and terminology databases (TB). Texts can be imported in a variety of formats and are then segmented (e.g. sentence by sentence) in order to align the two languages. In the editor you translate each segment by consulting your resources (TM and TB), then the translated text is exported in the original format. In this way the computer acts as a memory aid and suggests the translation according to your resources.

I grew up in Ticino and studied in Winterthur. After some years in Bern (DDPS) I am now working part-time in Zurich (Swiss Life) and live in Frauenfeld.

Nembrini Translations allows me to work on new and varied projects. I am a curious person who loves challenges. Thanks to my profession, I can dive into many topics and I never stop learning. Translation combines this and my passion for writing, languages and foreign cultures.
